Dr. Jayson J. Spas
I am committed to a biobehavioral research career with interests in clinical psychology and behavioral medicine. Although I am generally interested in intervention and treatment outcomes, I am specifically interested in patient-oriented research (POR) for behavioral risk factors associated with chronic disease, disability and premature death. Toward that end, the aims of my current NIH-funded project (Project BREATH) are to develop and test a novel intervention that simultaneously targets both smoking cessation and weight loss, the first and second leading causes of preventable deaths in the United States.
